Peanut Oil
Herbology Peanut Oil is 100% pure, cold-pressed Arachis hypogaea (Groundnut / Peanut) oil — a rich, nourishing carrier oil extracted from premium peanut kernels, valued across South Asia, Africa, and the Mediterranean for its deeply moisturizing properties and its warm, subtly nutty character that makes it a distinctive and comforting addition to skin care, hair care, and massage blends. Peanut oil has been used in traditional Ayurvedic massage (Abhyanga) for centuries — prized for its ability to deeply nourish and warm the skin, support joint health, and provide a smooth, comfortable massage glide that is particularly valued in cold-weather body care routines.
Peanut Oil’s fatty acid profile — rich in oleic acid (~45–55%) and linoleic acid (~25–35%), with a meaningful palmitic acid content (~8–12%) — gives it a well-balanced combination of deep skin nourishment, barrier support, and a medium-weight texture that absorbs comfortably without excessive greasiness. Its high oleic acid content delivers lasting moisturization and helps maintain skin softness and suppleness, while its linoleic acid content supports skin barrier repair and is particularly beneficial for dry skin. Its natural Vitamin E content adds antioxidant protection. Its natural resveratrol content — the same powerful antioxidant polyphenol found in red wine — provides additional anti-inflammatory and skin-protective action. On hair, its oleic acid content penetrates the hair shaft for deep conditioning, reduces protein loss, and adds a natural shine. A warm, nourishing, and genuinely effective traditional carrier oil. Note: avoid if you have a peanut or groundnut allergy.

How to Use
- Body moisturizer: Apply to skin after bathing while still slightly damp for maximum absorption. Particularly nourishing for dry, rough skin areas — elbows, knees, heels, and hands.
- Face: Apply 2–3 drops to clean skin and massage gently until absorbed. Best suited for normal to dry skin types.
- Hair & scalp: Apply to scalp and hair, massage gently, leave for 20–30 minutes before washing out. Can also be used as a finishing oil on hair ends for shine and conditioning.
- Massage: Warm slightly between palms and use alone or blend with essential oils for a deeply nourishing, traditional massage experience. Particularly effective for cold-weather body care and joint massage.
- DIY formulations: Use as a primary carrier oil base for body butters, massage oils, and hair treatments.
- Tip: Peanut Oil has a warm, subtly nutty aroma — a natural indicator of its cold-pressed quality. Add a few drops of ginger or black pepper essential oil for a warming, circulation-boosting massage blend. Important: avoid if you have a peanut or groundnut allergy. Perform a patch test before first use.
